The Llano Volunteer Fire Department
(Llano VFD) is a fire
department that serves the city Llano (population est. 4000) and a rural area of 650
square miles (population est. 2500). Inside the City of Llano, the
Volunteer Fire Department has two
stations, one on the north side of the river and one on the south
side of the river.
At
this time, the Llano VFD has 30 members with an average age of 34 and average experience of 12
years. The department has an ISO rating of 6.
At the present time, we have 3 engines,
3 brush
trucks, 3 tanker trucks, 1 service truck and 1 emergency response unit (rescue). We
have a call volume of 100 to 120 runs a year, with 40% attributed to city and 60%
attributed to rural.
We are dispatched by the Llano County Sheriff's
office and provide mutual aid to the rest of the county and near by counties. We do not
provide EMS service, but several members are Paramedics, EMT-I and EMTs.
The Llano VFD is
an aggressive fire department. Each year, we send firefighters to area and statewide
training schools as well as local training |
